Privacy Policy
Presstronic Academy has not launched yet. Until it does, this website does one thing with personal data: it keeps the email address you chose to give us so we can tell you when enrollment opens. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, who else touches it, how long we keep it, and how to make us change or delete it.
- We collect
- Your email address, your consent choices, and standard server logs
- We never
- Sell, rent, or share your data for advertising
- Tracking
- No cookies, no analytics, no pixels, no email open-tracking
- Your rights
- See, correct, export, or erase your data at any time, free of charge
01Who we are
This website is operated by Presstronic LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Presstronic LLC decides why and how your personal data is processed, which makes us the controller under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation and the business responsible for your information under US and Canadian privacy law.
Presstronic LLCSanford, FL United States
Privacy contact: support@presstronic.com
We have designated Demian Seiler, e.g. “our Founder”]] as the person responsible for personal information protection, including for the purposes of Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. You can reach them at the address above.
02What this policy covers
This policy covers presstronic.academy and the pre-launch mailing list offered on it. It does not cover the Presstronic Academy learning product, which is not yet available. When the product launches, it will come with its own privacy notice, and we will send it to everyone on the mailing list before it takes effect. We will not move your mailing-list data into a product account without asking you first.
03What we collect
We collect only what we need to run a mailing list and keep the website secure.
Information you give us
- Email address. Collected when you use the signup form. You don’t have to provide it; if you don’t, the only consequence is that we can’t email you.
- Your consent choices. Which boxes you ticked, the exact wording you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed.
- Anything you write to us. If you email us, we keep your message and our reply so we can deal with your request.
Information collected automatically
- Consent evidence. When you submit the form, we record the IP address and browser type it was sent from, and when you click the confirmation link in our first email, we record that too. Privacy law requires us to be able to prove that you, personally, agreed to hear from us. This is how we do it.
- Server logs. Like every website, our host’s servers record the IP address, browser user-agent, page requested, and time of each visit. These logs exist for security and to keep the site running, and are not used to identify or profile you.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, postal address, phone number, payment details, precise location, or any sensitive personal information (such as health, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, biometrics, or government ID numbers). We do not buy data about you from anyone else, and we do not build profiles of your behavior.
04How we use it, and our legal bases
Data protection law in the EU and UK requires us to name a legal basis for every use of your data. We use the same standards for everyone, wherever they live.
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Sending launch news and early-access information you asked for | Email address | Consent — Art. 6(1)(a). You can withdraw it at any time. |
| Sending playtest invitations and short surveys, only if you ticked the optional box | Email address | Consent — Art. 6(1)(a), given separately. |
| Proving that you consented | Consent choices, timestamps, IP address and browser at signup and confirmation | Legal obligation — Art. 6(1)(c), read with Art. 7(1), which requires us to demonstrate consent; and legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f), in defending against legal claims. |
| Keeping the website secure and available | Server logs | Legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f), in protecting our site and our visitors from abuse and attack. |
| Answering your questions and privacy requests | Your email and message | Legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f); and legal obligation — Art. 6(1)(c) for rights requests. |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed them against your rights and concluded that the processing is limited, expected, and low-risk. You can ask us for details of that assessment, and you have the right to object (see Your rights).
We will not use your data for any purpose that is incompatible with the ones above without telling you first and, where the law requires it, asking for your consent.
05Our emails
- Opt-in only. Every box on our signup form starts unticked. We never add anyone to the list who hasn’t ticked a box themselves.
- Double opt-in. After you sign up, we send one email asking you to confirm. Until you click it, you’re not on the list. If you never confirm, your address is deleted after 30 days.
- What you’ll get. The launch date, early-access information, and announcements of new paths. If you ticked the optional box, you may also get occasional playtest invitations and surveys. Nothing else.
- Leaving. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. It works immediately and never asks you to log in or explain yourself. You can also just reply or write to support@presstronic.com.
- No open-tracking. We switch off open and click tracking in our email software, so our emails don’t report back when or whether you read them.
- Who it’s from. Every email identifies Presstronic LLC and includes our postal address, as required by the US CAN-SPAM Act and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
08International transfers
Presstronic LLC and our providers are in the United States. If you’re in the EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland, or Canada, your data will be transferred to and stored in the US.
For transfers out of the EEA, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (Decision 2021/914) or, where a provider is certified, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. For transfers out of the UK, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.
09How long we keep it
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Unconfirmed signups | 30 days, then deleted |
| Mailing-list address | Until you unsubscribe, or 24 months after the last email you engaged with, whichever comes first. We delete dormant addresses; we don’t send “we miss you” campaigns. |
| Consent records | While you’re subscribed, then for 3 years after you leave, so we can prove consent if a regulator or court asks. After that, deleted. |
| Your messages to us | 2 years after the matter is closed |
| Server logs | 7 days |
After you unsubscribe, we keep your address on a short suppression list for as long as we run a mailing list. The only purpose of that list is to make sure we never email you again by mistake. If you ask us to erase your data completely, we’ll tell you that a suppression record is the only reliable way to honor your unsubscribe, and delete it too if you still want us to.
10Security
The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS. Administrative access to the website and our email provider is protected by strong, unique passwords and multi-factor authentication, and is limited to the people who need it. We collect very little, which is the most effective security measure there is.
No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, as the GDPR requires, and tell you directly and without undue delay if the risk to you is high. We will also meet the notification requirements of US state breach laws, including Florida’s, and of Canada’s PIPEDA and Québec’s Law 25.
11Your rights (everyone)
Wherever you live, and whether or not the law where you are requires it, you can ask us to:
- Access — tell you whether we hold data about you, and give you a copy of it.
- Correct — fix anything that’s inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete — erase your data.
- Port — give you your data in a machine-readable format (CSV or JSON).
- Object or restrict — stop, or pause, a particular use of your data.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, as easily as you gave it. Withdrawing doesn’t affect anything we lawfully did before you withdrew.
How to make a request
Email support@presstronic.com from the address you signed up with. If you write from a different address, we’ll send a confirmation link to the address on our list, because we have to check the request really comes from you. We’ll ask for as little as possible: no ID documents and no account.
We’ll respond within 30 days. That’s within the one month the GDPR allows, the 30 days in Canadian law, and the 45 days California allows. If a request is unusually complex, we may extend that by the amount the applicable law permits, and we’ll tell you why within the original deadline. Requests are free.
We will never treat you differently, charge you more, or give you a worse service because you exercised any of these rights.
12EU, EEA and UK residents
In addition to the rights above, which cover everything in GDPR Articles 15 to 21, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. That can be in the country where you live, where you work, or where you think the problem happened. In the UK, that’s the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). A list of EU and EEA authorities is at edpb.europa.eu. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first, but you don’t have to come to us before complaining.
Providing your email is voluntary. It isn’t required by law or by any contract, and the only consequence of not providing it is that you won’t receive our emails.
13US residents, including California
Presstronic LLC is currently below the revenue and volume thresholds at which most US state privacy laws apply. We follow the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) anyway, and extend the same rights to residents of every US state, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Florida and every other state with a consumer privacy law.

Your rights
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, and to get a copy of it. You also have the right to delete it, correct it, opt out of its sale or sharing, and limit our use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We don’t sell, share, or use sensitive personal information, so the last two apply by default. Make requests as described in Your rights.
Authorized agents. You can have someone else make a request for you. We’ll ask the agent for your signed permission, and we may ask you to confirm the request directly from the email address on our list.
Appeals. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with “Appeal” in the subject line. We’ll respond within 45 days. If you’re unhappy with the outcome, you can contact your state Attorney General.
“Shine the Light.” California residents can ask whether we’ve disclosed personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. We haven’t, and we don’t.
Florida
We are based in Florida. We comply with the Florida Information Protection Act, including its breach-notification requirements.
14Canadian residents, including Québec
We handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for Québec residents, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector as amended by Law 25.
- Our consent for commercial email is express consent as defined by CASL. It is obtained with an unticked box and confirmed by double opt-in.
- You can access and correct your personal information, withdraw consent, and ask that your information be de-indexed or deleted. You can also ask for a copy in a structured, commonly used technological format.
- The person responsible for protecting personal information is named in Who we are.
- Your information is stored in the United States and may be accessible to US courts and authorities under US law.
- You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca). If you live in Québec, you can also complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
15Children
This website and mailing list are meant for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16, and we never knowingly collect it from children under 13, as defined by the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you think a child has signed up, email support@presstronic.com and we’ll delete the record promptly.
16Automated decisions
We do not make any decisions about you by automated means, including profiling, that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
17Changes to this policy
The date at the top of this page shows when this policy was last changed. If we make a material change, and especially if we want to use your data in a new way, we’ll email everyone on the list at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Where the law requires it, we’ll ask for new consent rather than assume it. We will never quietly widen what we do with an address you gave us for one purpose.
