Cookie Notice
If you’re a visitor, this website stores nothing on your device. It sets no cookies, uses no local storage, and runs no tracking of any kind. That’s why there’s no cookie banner. There’s nothing to ask your permission for.

01What cookies are, and why the law cares
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store. Similar technologies do the same job in other ways: local storage, session storage, tracking pixels, and device fingerprinting. Websites use them to remember you, measure you, or follow you around the web.
In the EU, the ePrivacy Directive (Article 5(3)) requires a website to get your consent before it stores or reads anything on your device. In the UK, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (Regulation 6) do the same. The only exception is storage that’s strictly necessary to provide something you asked for. Those rules are the reason for the cookie banners you see on most websites.
02What we store on visitors’ devices
Nothing. When you visit presstronic.academy, we don’t set any cookies. We don’t write to local storage, session storage, or IndexedDB, we don’t fingerprint your browser, and we don’t load anything that does any of those things.
| Type | Used? |
|---|---|
| First-party cookies | No |
| Third-party cookies | No |
| Local storage and session storage | No |
| Tracking pixels and web beacons | No |
| Browser or device fingerprinting | No |
The interactive parts of the home page, such as the draggable board, the branch choices, and the “hold to skip” button, run entirely inside the page. They forget everything as soon as you leave or reload.
03What that rules out
- No Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, Matomo, Hotjar, or any other analytics or session-recording tool.
- No Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, Reddit, or other advertising and retargeting pixels.
- No social-media “like”, “share”, or “follow” widgets.
- No embedded YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps, or other third-party media. These set cookies as soon as they load, so we haven’t used them.
- No chat widgets, A/B testing tools, or heatmaps.
04Fonts and other files
Our fonts (Archivo and IBM Plex Mono) and every image on the site are served from presstronic.academy itself. We don’t use Google Fonts’ servers or any other content delivery network run by someone else.
This matters because every time your browser fetches a file from another company’s server, that company receives your IP address. In January 2022, a German court (Landgericht München I, case 3 O 17493/20) held that loading Google Fonts from Google’s servers without consent broke the GDPR. Hosting them ourselves avoids the question.
05The signup form
The signup form is processed on our own server. It doesn’t set cookies or load scripts from our email provider. When you submit it, the data is sent directly to our server and then passed to our email provider server-to-server. Your browser never contacts them. What happens to that data is described in our Privacy Policy.
06Our emails
Many marketing emails contain an invisible “tracking pixel” that tells the sender when, where, and whether you opened them. They also often rewrite links so every click is recorded. Under the ePrivacy rules these count as tracking technologies too.
We switch off open tracking and click tracking in our email software. Our emails don’t report back on you.
07Cookies for site administrators
Like every WordPress site, this one uses cookies for the small number of people who log in to manage it. These cookies are strictly necessary to keep an administrator signed in securely. They are never set for ordinary visitors, and they only appear if you visit the login page at /wp-admin or /wp-login.php.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
wordpress_test_cookie | Checks that your browser accepts cookies before logging in | Session |
wordpress_[hash]wordpress_sec_[hash] | Authenticates a logged-in administrator | Session, or 14 days with “Remember me” |
wordpress_logged_in_[hash] | Tells WordPress an administrator is logged in | Session, or 14 days with “Remember me” |
wp-settings-[id]wp-settings-time-[id] | Remembers an administrator’s dashboard layout preferences | 1 year |
Because they’re strictly necessary for a service the administrator explicitly asks for, they don’t need consent under the ePrivacy Directive or PECR.
08Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. Since we don’t track anyone, both are already in effect for every visitor, whether or not your browser sends them. Under California law, a GPC signal also counts as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don’t sell or share personal information, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

10If this ever changes
If we ever add anything that stores or reads information on your device and isn’t strictly necessary, we will do three things:
- update this notice before it goes live;
- keep it switched off until you actively choose to turn it on, with “reject” just as easy as “accept”;
- let you change your mind at any time, from a link on every page.
Opt-in, never opt-out. That’s the same rule we apply to email.
